Oops, that was unclear: Chummy takes over running the home for pregnant women. I changed the order at the last second. That was sloppy on my part, sorry if it confused anyone.

I was underwhelmed. But it was interesting to see Vanessa Redgrave's character after just hearing her voice for so long.

Yeah, I was underwhelmed too. I loved the first season of this show, but I stopped watching the last season because it just wasn't holding up for me anymore. I was hoping the special might be better, but no, no Christmas miracle here.

A good part of that is probably due to the first season being almost entirely derived from the book. The writers started embellishing and moving away from the book in the second season.

I believe the first and second series were based on the book and the third series, the most recent one, is original. Two more series in the works.
