Gilmore was great (or course, and I enjoyed everyone being smitten with him), but honestly Tharla Starr and her entorage was the best part of the episode.

That charm spell came in clutch, though.

Tharla was great, but Opal & Nancy ("....mother") was what broke me.

I'm honestly a little lost on the overall story arc/narrative thrust (which is partially my fault for watching this sort of in the background) but I do love the interactions between the PCs and NPCs.

Which is fine as that has always been the main appeal of Critical Role to me. The characters, their relationships and how they evolve and grow over time is the good stuff. The stories themselves vary in how much of the foreground they take up but even the best arcs are ultimately more drivers for interesting character moments than anything else.
