Anne, Sprig and Polly break Hop Pop's favorite cane, which has been passed down in the Plantar family for centuries. They go out to get wood for another from a "doom tree." As a result they almost die again.

This is the first significant appearance of Leopold Loggle, town shopkeep and woodsmith.
Hop Pop's terrible cooking is first demonstrated here.
Anne breaks Hop Pop's cane easily. "Oopsies! Guess I don't know my own strength, right guys?" (innocent whistling)
We see Anne's cave in flashback. Not appealing.
Predators of the episode: walking stick.
From the backpack: Tennis racket (Anne's default weapon), book, pens, pencil, eraser, toenail clippers, air pump.
