For the past decade, Dexter has been living a quiet, isolated life far away from the temptations of his past. I didn't realize that the original Dexter run pre-dated Fanfare until I went to submit 'New Blood' to the queue -- so, no trip down memory lane reliving the original finale reaction.

I'm going into this with fairly low expectations. I don't think there's anything they can do to un-disappoint me over how things turned out in Dexter 'TOS'. Debra's still dead, I'll be astonished if they acknowledge the existence of Harrison's sister and grandparents (which was my biggest peeve of the whole 'Hannah goes to Argentina with Harrison' plot line), and I don't really expect them to come up with a better ending now. But I find I still have a lot of residual affection for the show from when it was at its best, so, I guess I'm still on board the fun train.

I never bothered watching season 8 ... Should watch it before watching this ? I read a brief synopsis of season 8.

I can't see much point in watching season 8 now if you weren't motivated to have seen it before.

I'd just watch a season 8 recap or something. It's not bad in a fun or interesting way.

I would just read or watch a recap of s8. It's really not worth the pain of watching it if you can avoid it.

I know that it's a massive cliche, but 'The Passenger' always hits me in the feels and bought some instant goodwill.

Bringing Jennifer Carpenter back as Deborah too, even though we know she's just another figment.

The episode was such a tease with its target obvious rich environment. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Am actually interested which direction they take Harrison in.
