Dexter: New Blood: Smoke Signals

The investigation that Dexter has caused is making it difficult for him to make things right with Harrison, who has made a name for himself at school as a member of the wrestling team.
I'm still enjoying New Blood. It hasn't made me care much about Harrison--like, I'm not invested in whether he and the cop's daughter will pair up, or whether he's got a lurking 'Dark Passenger'. (And, as I suspected, the continued the memory-holing of his older half-sister and maternal grandparents in saying he ended up in the foster system after Hannah's death, surely they would have been contacted to be his guardian when he reappeared in the US after 10 years of being presumed dead/missing.) But, whatever, Dexter/Michael C. Hall is the reason I'm watching.

Hall's portrayal feels really sympathetic, a lapsed virtuoso. Sure, murder is bad, but I'm loving the internal monologue. The formula of a guilty conscience expecting to be caught is tight and hasn't felt too contrived so far.
I'm really hoping that the writers continue to give Julia Jones something deeper to work with.
Alcott continues to impress, and the character makes Dexter so much more sympathetic. This type of character prejudices me to dislike, but not a single trigger yet. The tension over whether Harrison ultimately/ actually aligns with Dex or not (and vice versa) is delicious.
Though, I'd be very disappointed if "H" is merely a superDexter or something.
Johnny Sequoyah (Audrey Bishop) being cast for looking and sounding like Yvonne Strahovski (Hannah McKay) can't be a coincidence. If there's a spinoff, I'd be pissed.
But I'd give it a chance. Alcott and Sequoyah are pretty good.
Loving Carpenter as Dex's conscience. Really glad they brought her back.
"New York, New York" Clancy Brown comes fully into the character this episode.

The cadaver exsanguination scene - I want this to be actual, but with the (digital?) vaseline on the lens, it couldn't've.
