It's a sexual health episode! This week, Mike and Aubrey dive into the hotly debated medical history of vibrators and ask: who fact-checks the fact-checkers? Support the show

This was fun! More academic needs, only mild fat content. They probably could have gone further down the rat hole of vibration as fitness technique but I was quite happy with 50 minutes of talk about vibrators.

I generally want more commentary on stuff directly related to fat/weight craziness in our culture, but this is too good a topic to pass up. I was listening to some older episodes last weekend and realized how nice it is to have an ad-free podcast (and truly ad-free, unlike NPR podcasts with 2-3 minutes of sponsorship bullshit per hour), so I just signed up to be a patreon sponsor.

I really enjoyed Michael's continually escalating horror in this, not the least of which was for the methodology used in some of the research.

good episode. i think the thematic connection is: a lot of 'common sense' about medical history, research, and motivation is lore or bullshit.

which connects to other fallacies like bmi, keto, master cleanse...

really good listen.

Agree with others -- enjoyed the ep, but didn't really feel like it belonged among the other episodes. Felt more like a Patreon extra ep, but also whatever -- I'm happy with whatever they want to put in my ears.
