this was SO MUCH FUN to watch. The way the story unfolded with some twists I genuinely didn't expect, and the runaway female-centeredness of it, all with a deep sense of grief wound through. Watching this as someone with a history of awful infertility and loss, it was magnificent writing and heartbreaking. And that opening scene in the first episode! I'm really looking forward to the second season.

Ally Xue is freaking hilarious.

"Why are you like this?"

One episode in and I'm hooked. The no-nonsense way they portray a messed up relationship is refreshing. Worth it just for the phrase "twist the moment," such an apt way of describing one part of the dynamic with Alex and Constance.

I was thinking about watching this but could you guys tell me if it features a lot of this "Comedy aggressive female horniness" where it's like a punchline that "the woman is acting like a man haha" because as soon as I saw there was a guy involved I thought ugh I can't take any more of this. I would watch it if it was something more than that.

Oh no. There is real grief over no sex with men, and there is what seems like it'll be a sexual assault but instead turns into the weirdest sort of consensual artificial insemination thing, IMO. And the relationships in the show - I mean they are often simultaneously deeply loving and deeply fucked up, but the show is clear eyed about the damage.

That got VERY dark. Needs some content warnings.

We are up to Episode 5, and without spoilering anything...the scene with Pip and Bobby at the dinner was intense and overwhelming and really well executed. This series allows all of the characters to be people and have real flaws. I am anxious to find out how it ends and who the Huntress is! And I'm really hoping for a Season 2.

Those were the only 6 episodes, then?
What a place to end it!
