"What if Dexter Morgan was a super hot chick?" It's a question I'm sure I've all asked at some point in our lives. And Bella Thorne is extremely good looking, but unfortunately she's not...quite at Michael C. Hall levels when it comes to acting abilities, and that's a bit of a problem, because this story really needs a strong lead to overcome -- you guessed it -- some pretty wonky, hit and miss writing. "Is this episode still better than basically anything from season 1?" It's a question I'm sure we've all -- anyway, yeah, it is.

There's a lot of problems with "Drive," but the biggest may be that the shocking twist last act (which is unlikely to come as a shock to anyone) is a lot less interesting than the premise the episode ostensibly sets up. I'm actually really interested in the story of a sex addict with a reluctantly poly partner, in the story of a person so ruled by her passions that she's willing to go out in search of lovers in the full knowledge that there's a killer out there. That's cool, and it's sexy, and it feels fresh. Sadly, the story we actually get is...well, it's not any of those things. But at least it's fun to watch!
