*This felt more like AHS than any episode has this season. I didn't hate the vibe of the first first four chapters -- this is the most that AHS has felt like it was soaking in the juices of a real world place since Coven's New Orleans -- but it hasn't felt much like this show, to be honest. Just the sight of the fortune-telling shop brought joy and relief to my heart. I missed you, American Horror Story!

*Big Daddy is apparently not a ghost, which makes him seem a little less interesting. I have a terrible, terrible feeling this is going to turn out to be some Tyler Durden shit where Patrick and Big Daddy are the same dude. I'd have to rewatch the earlier chapters to see if there's anything that boldly contradicts this theory, but I don't think there is. Why else would Big Daddy kill Barbara?

*Once again, I gotta say, the music is really nice this year. I loved the Iggy Pop, but the score itself is fine stuff.

The “I am your father” bit made ginger ale come out my nose.
