Shotgun Wedding (2022)

Darcy and Tom gather their families for the ultimate destination wedding but when the entire party is taken hostage, "'Til Death Do Us Part" takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones if they don't kill each other first.

This movie is better than I expected it would be, and I had high hopes because of the trailer. J-Lo and Josh pull off the ridonkulous pre-wedding cold feet; J-Coo wields her machine gun with panache, one of the pirates is caught using pirate emojis on his mobile, Sonia Braga and Cheech Marin are the couple of the year, Lenny K and D'arcy C. sparkle, and man -- it's just a lot of fun. Bonus: cast party dancing to the tune of "Walk Like an Egyptian" under the closing credits is "chef's kiss."

"This asshat thought it was appropriate to show up to a wedding he didn’t RSVP to!"

This was sufficiently fun, for a streaming movie with a big name and some solid supporting actors.

This really reminded me of the high camp action mvies of the 80s, and I mean that in a good way. I'm a J. Lo loyalist and had the best time. It's fully bonkers though.

Oh! and I forgot to say, not only was it sufficiently good, it was only 1:41 long. We got the setup, we got the action, we got the twist, we got the conclusion, we're done. No notes.
