Perry retains his title as Worst Friend.

It always weirds me out seeing John DiMaggio in non-cartoon form.

Now it's really getting interesting. Holcombe wanted to get his family as far from L.A. as possible, but it looks like his ticket out of town is going to fizzle out. What's he going to find with his own digging? Kid McCutcheon seems to have had some other hustles going on.

Daddy McCutcheon seemed like the prime suspect, and still does, but the Gallardo bros involvement complicates things. What is the angle here?

So far this season, I've not been much invested in Perry or Della's personal lives much. I only ever knew Perry Mason from the old TV show, where the main characters are pretty one dimensional, so last season I found this version refreshing. But S02 is not quite clicking for me yet.

But I want more Lupe. Though she's probably fine with cutting that loser Perry out of her story for good.

We saw how the murder went down in E1 so the brothers are still clearly lying to Perry — it was a hit, not a cash-grab with a struggle. The brothers were hired for the hit or to take the fall… it wasn't clear just how much money was in that envelope but it's a fat stack of $100s, enough for two guys with few other prospects to make the sacrifice.

I want a Lupe spin-off. She's clearly a Pancho Barnes cutout and with Veronica Falcón in the lead I'd eat that series right up.
