Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023)

The Rangers come face-to-face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs.

"Once & Always" perfectly captures the vibe of the original series. The dialogue is cheesy, the story is melodramatic, the villains are outrageous, and I love it all. -- Courtney Lanning, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

The 2017 "Power Rangers" film was a flop because the Rangers have always been too earnest and too uncool to get the glossy Marvel treatment. There is no way to take a show about "teens with attitude" fighting ridiculous monsters with out-of-sync hammy dialogue and make it more "adult." "Power Rangers" belongs to our inner kids, and "Once and Always" remembers that. -- Kelly Lawler, USA Today

I enjoyed it. It knows what it is, and doesn't pretend to be better than what the show was. Rocky seemed a bit bigger than the guy in the red ranger costume, but otherwise, it seemed pretty spot on. (And there was a bit of representation where the Trini's daughter saved the guy's boyfriend.) And they acknowledged the rangers that's come after them. (SPD's set in 2025, I think. I'm curious what'll happen in 2 years with PR. Will they just never reference it?)
