I thought the book was wonderful and the film made me cry, as I recall. I really like the author's more speculative work.

Same. The film is heart breaking. Plus I adore Carey Mulligan in everything I've seen her in. Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley are also great... kind of before each of them really took off.

Oh, my bad Knightley had already done Pirates. Garfield wasn't yet Spider Man though.
