The Pitt: 9:00AM
January 17, 2025 9:35 AM - Season 1, Episode 3 - Subscribe
Samira does her best to keep Whitaker on the right track. A teen overdose sparks conflict in the ER.
Yeah - I don't think the writing is _quite_ up to the task of what feels like it's going to be a ... what, solid 12+ hour day in "real time" - things are both moving too fast and too slow, the audience has certain expectations that there's more that's happening that we aren't seeing, but with the first four episodes being 7, 8, 9 and 10am, I'm not quite buying some of the character growth that we've seen so far?
But, it's Noah Wyle and a cast of a whole bunch of other "hey, it's that guy, from the show, you know", so that's nice.

Felt like the pacing actually did suffer in this one, and the comic breaks (doc afraid of rats, ambulance) didn't do much for me.
Appreciate the depiction of managed nicotine addiction.
Waiting to see which of the sociopaths is a bigger sociopath.

I know they wanted to set up the scrub change by it, but in what ED is someone grabbing meds from the staff medical cabinet? Do residents not get Pyxis/Omnicell privileges?
Also if they're not getting money from Littman and Figs, then what are they doing.

I've only ever floated to the ED but I don't know that if I've ever seen any level of doctor pulling meds from anywhere -- and I think that part of the in-joke is that if it's a medication not already stocked in the pyxis, it's going to take forever for pharmacy to send it to you.
