If you aren’t even going to watch, you didn’t have to say anything….

Anyways, I liked the series. I was a fan of the book, but it was a hard read with the romanticized child bride (ugh). I think the series did well to evoke the feeling of the book, and the English version still had a good voice for the voiceovers.

I found it fairly entertaining. Good acting and some interesting set pieces. Worth watching for the curious!

To my recall, this series mostly covers the first half of the book. They leave out The Banana Wars and the book's incredibly strange final act (which might be too much for some viewers).

Now I'll have to go back and read that book again. It was one of my favourites when I was young.
