I don't like that they're setting up Collins to have a miscarriage. Can't someone just exist being pregnant?

That foot scalpel must really smart

Was the frat ambulance hi-jinx based of a real story?

Oh! I forgot my main question. Where do you think they're going with the guy who fell off the ladder with the gynecomastia? Pituitary tumor makes him abusive towards his wife and that's why she didn't want to be with him in the ED? Wife doesn't find him attractive any more and caused him to fall?

I'm enjoying this more than I usually do medical shows - I spent many years working in emergency at a trauma centre. It's got the usual problems medical shows do of too many doctors, not enough nurses and a lot of standing around when they keep saying how busy they are.

The 24 hour format is requiring quite the suspension of disbelief. In my experience it's rare to get anything good until after 10am but they've already intubated like 8 people! When I was training it took me forever to get my airway training done because we had a long run where no-one came in during the day shifts I worked who needed intubation.

I feel like they're setting up the angry man with chest pain in the waiting room to have something major happen to teach the doctors a lesson but I really hope they don't find anything wrong with him. The majority of the people who present to emergency with chest pain get discharged with something minor or a diagnoses of "we do t know but it's not a heart attack." It'd be nice to see that happen in a tv show.

I watched the next-week preview and it seems like wife may have done something harmful to gyno-guy.

Weeks without a scrub change: 1

Actually, it would be 0, since we're going hour by hour. Unless you meant "Hours without a scrub change," in which case, carry on!

I did NOT care for this episode.

The abortion stuff where the Mom is ready to compel her teenage daughter to be a mother, is infuriating me. If a kid's not old enough to choose abortion, they're not old enough to be forced to give birth. Juxtaposed with the heavy handed indications that Collins is going to have a miscarriage, while getting all excited about buy the stroller. I just really really dislike all of that together. I was happy when Robby made the pointed comment to Collins that her delays played a role in this, even though, I can also accept justifications she (or others for her) might have on a medical or ethical basis for her having done so.

Every moment of the stolen ambulance stuff has just bored me.

Testicle torsion kid's Mom's reaction to Collins, combined with the way the sickle cell patient was initially treated on intake until Dr. "Slo-Mo" recognized the symptoms and treated the patient with such care and gentleness and respect .... I'm glad they are highlighting that.

Totally agree that they are over-foreshadowing a miscarriage, and I wish they would just let her carry on with the kid.

And the newbie foot-stabber (can't remember her name) .... she is so volatile it's making me uncomfortable. She'll snap soon, for sure.

I'm afraid that the ladder guy doesn't have a tumor, but is on preliminary HRT and the wife is pissed about the transition.
