Special Event: 2nd annual NHL trade deadline post

Here be sadness and woe!

Once again, I am asking: BUT WHAT ABOUT THEIR FRIENDS?

Here is a place to talk about your trade deadline feelings. Who did your team land? What nonsense is your GM up to? WHY does the NHL hate love?

My teams are Not Good this year (I missed the golden era of the Penguins and now they are so mid you guys) so I am watching with mild concern for the moves to come in the next 48 hrs.

Michael Bunting we hardly knew ye! What on earth can a 35 year old Schenn do that you couldn’t? And Rickard Rakell has already given a tragic anticipatory interview about how much he wants to stay, please don’t Kyle.

Also sit tight Guerin, please back away from Brock Nelson. I don’t want his hatchet face on the Wild. Try for Boeser if you really think the team needs another Brock.

Do you have a link to the first NHL trade deadline post? Could be interesting to revisit and compare.

My post from last year. I am a slightly more jaded fan this year.

I really don't pay much attention, but the January acquisition of Klingberg hasn't wowed me and adding Frederic for playoff grit: maybe?

Oilers are in a slump, hoping this is our goaltending doldrums before playoffs. Really tired of the public money getting shoveled into these teams.

The Lightning just got Gourde and Bjorkstrand for whatever and loose change. Meanwhile the Leafs are expected to give up all their best propects (Minten, Cowan, Danford) for an old and meh Brayden Schenn. Man, I hate being a Toronto fan sometimes.

Frederic is still on IR! Things are looking kind of wobbly in Edmonton tbh.

Poor Bunting got traded while he's still recovering from an appendectomy, bad week.

Meanwhile is it just me or is there more goalie trading this year than last? Not just recently, there have been lots of moves.

I have disloyal thoughts about one particular goalie, not gonna lie

And this ad does not help

I like Skinner and I hope he finds his form again.

Also the Pens had Desharnais for literally 10 games and just flipped him, and I had brief nostalgia for Vinny Skinny Winny (their win celebrations, so tender!) but he was Not Very Good Actually so I hope he has a good time with the Sharks.

More goalies on the move!

Here is a link to keep you up to date if you, like me, are overly invested in other peoples' workplaces.

Desharnais just isn't good enough to be a regular player on a decent team, but he should be a good veteran influence on the Sharks.

OK so Guerin just traded two centers for a wing. Eriksson Ek is out, who exactly do we have at center anymore??? Rossi 1C, Gaudreau at 3C I guess but who??? else???

I will miss Marat, he is so fast and fun to watch.

Basically I guess I made this thread for ME, to complain, thank you for humoring me.

Surprised/ not-surprised that Rantanen got moved again.

Nothing for my team, just a 5/6 dman who got moved for a 3rd to prevent a block for our young d prospects.
