If you only have time to watch one new movie about a violent, jealous [checks notes] ... Lazy Boy Recliner this week, let it be this one. A Classic B-Movie horror plot, played exactly as straight as it needs to be. Some gore, mild eroticism involving a chair, and a few jump scares.

Be warned though: if you have a phobia of the kind of furniture you picked up next to the road to fill out your first basement apartment, this may not be your cup of tea.

I saw this a few years ago. It's silly and ok for one watch preferably late at night with some drinks and friends.

I wonder if this film is at least partly inspired by Death Bed: The Bed That Eats (1977), the obvious masterpiece of the "Homicidal Furniture" genre.

That's a very high bar for any "homicidal furniture" movie to meet.
