The trial of Hector Ayala begins. Fisk’s old business associates seek to claim his vacant mantle.

RIP to Kamar de los Reyes, who passed away from cancer in late 2023, after wrapping his scenes.

that was brutal. wondering if s1 is going to be a deepening dark setup for redemption in s2. they already kind of used the drowning/resurrection from the original Born Again comic run in the Netflix series, but I'm guessing there will be a similar cliffhanger ending for DD in this season.

As pointed out by a real-life lawyer in this recap (at 12:50), Murdoch’s actions were, to put it in legal terms, a Dick Move, and he was very lucky he didn’t get disbarred.

Also, Season 2 is filming today right outside my apartment building in Brooklyn! I’m guessing it must might have something to do with the big church that’s across the street.

So was having 50 cops in the room to intimidate a CI testifying against a cop, or permitting that same cop to attempt to prevent the witness make it to court, or having a bunch of cops running a death squad.

If one side cheats, the other cannot afford to take the high road.

I presume that was a copycat and not the real punisher, as there seems to be a bunch of punisher cult cops.

Life imitating art imitating life there. Very meta.

Yeah I also think it's a Punisher fetishist. The show doesn't seem like it would shy away from the IRL connotations.

Yeah the show not shying away from the real-life phenomenon of cops-fetishizing-the-Punisher has been nice to see. I think there's been comics storylines where the Punisher has had to intervene to stop wannabe-Punishers from ruining his name and reputation, and seems like we might be headed for something similar here.

I think it's really sad that Kamar de los Reyes (the actor playing Hector/White Tiger) passed away before this show aired. Cancer's always tragic but it seems especially cruel to deliver such a powerful performance and then never get to enjoy the audience's appreciation of it.

So the comics recently have had multiple story lines where cops and other fascists have taken on the punisher logo. In one, Frank Castle basically tells them to get that skull off of their cars and their uniforms or he'll come for them. And recently there's an entire group of Nazis/ Red skull followers who use a red version of The punisher logo. Which is to say it's nice that we're finally finally getting some creators saying Jesus Christ you fucking morons. The punisher is not supposed to be a good guy.
