Usually the fiance is the one choosing anime to watch but I'll have to make him watch the Anne of Green Gables anime. I have a lot of nostalgia for the story, and for that style of "western classic adapted to anime" because when I was little I watched the anime version of Swiss Family Robinson. We're terrible at finishing series though, so who knows how far we'll actually get.

The only show that I stuck with from winter was Apothecary Diaries, I dropped Sakamoto Days after episode 2 and was more focused on gaming (specifically the FF7 Rebirth release on PC) so didn't wind up checking out Zenshu or Medalist. I've heard good things about both of them though, and might revisit them during a slow period.

For Spring 2025, I've already watched the premiere episodes of Kowloon Generic Romance and Witch Watch which were both ok but neither really hit the ground running like some of the more recent releases of the past couple of years. KGR had an interesting start but we'll see how the mystery part of the story plays out. Witch Watch I'm a bit lukewarm on the humor so far but I'll give it another couple of episodes to see if the show is on my wavelength. Your Forma and Lazarus are both on the list too, but neither of them are easily accessible in my region. I'm continuing on with the second half of Apothecary Diaries S2 as well, the show has been solidly consistent with some decent highs.

Set in 2052, Lazarus centers on a task force of agents assembled from across the world to hunt down an enigmatic genius whose revolutionary cure-all drug is revealed to be an existential threat to humanity

This sounds vaguely like Common Side Effects. But with Shinichirō Watanabe on the director's seat I guess I'm in!

FWIW, it's my understanding that the English script for Lazarus is somewhat different than the Japanese script, and we have to wait 30 days after the English premiere before we get the English version on Max. (I hope I'm wrong about this, because I'm excited for it.)

Is the dub expected to be above average in some capacity?

*checks*

Oh, apparently it is dubtitled, and reddit is not a fan of the english script?

Last season's hits for me were Okitsura and Welcome To Japan, Ms. Elf! - I'm a sucker for a slice-of-life series with a strong sense of place, especially if food or music is involved. I also kept up with I May Be A Guild Receptionist, which had good moments and a great voice cast, but hasn't yet lived up to the promise of its excellent intro sequence.

This season, I'm looking forward to mono and Catch Me At The Ballpark based on the descriptions. I expect S2 of Aharen-san will be decent as well. Kowloon Generic Romance is getting a lot of attention, but I'd like to read some of the manga first...

I will say this - seeing the White Base in Zeon colors at the start of GQX was a thrill, especially since this scenario is one that Gundam fans have been wanting to see animated for three decades now.
