While obviously it was never going to happen, a lot of me wanted June to stay in Alaska to have some peace and everyone would be better off if Serena stayed tucked away in the garden.

Nick's father in law is creepy, Commander Lawrence and Naomi are delightful, New Bethlehem is not going to end well.

The argument between June and her mom was tense and devastating. Overall though, much as I like Nick I'm glad someone finally called him out for what he is.

How lucky that Serena happened to get pushed off a train near a sympathetic church in Alaska. I guess they’re setting her up to be the big conflict for June again? I really don’t want to see her in a position of power again. She never learned her lesson (as evident on the train last episode) and is still a hateful person. I wonder if Gilead will use her son to keep her in line in New Bethlehem.

June’s mom seemed a bit cagey about her time in the colonies. I wonder if she did something shady either while she was there or in order to escape.

Chilling that the American ambassador dude is willing to throw bodies at the war until there’s none left but you can’t just give up on your country, can you?

Oh and we get the classic shot of June’s face at the end. Do they know any other way to end an episode?
