I really loved the scene between Robby and Abbot on the roof. For satisfying narrative symmetry, yes, but also for the gorgeous and densely packed emotional work by Noah Wyle and Shawn Hatosy. Two characters with years of history, who just lived through one of the hardest days of their lives, who say as much with their bodies and silences as they do with their words. When I read that they filmed that scene out of continuity, before they rest of the season of was shot (or even written!), I was astonished. Just fantastic work.

One thing I've liked about this show has been how little romantic drama there is and how well it's handled when it is present. Plenty of exes coming through the ER with mixed feelings, but not a lot of soap opera stuff. Hairband nurse asking out Javadi at the end of the shift after a few nice moments between them was a good end to their thread, and was sort of the perfect amount of that among all the other stuff.

I started watching the series halfway through, just went back to the earlier episodes and during the ambulance chase betting plotline, there’s a scene where Langdon looks at the wall of sticky notes with people’s bets and his gaze lingers a little too long on the one that says ‘Langdon - Meth Head’. In retrospect his expression there is really interesting.

I just learned that Dr. Mel uses her mother's name (her mom was/is also an actor). She's Bryan Cranston's daughter and gor her start on Breaking Bad. Nepo blah blah, she's a gem.

Wew well that's over.
What a show. The only thing I'd fault was that it laid on the preaching a bit too thick.

Idk, I mean, the problem with most eligible U.S. voters is that they're completely, woefully, tragically uninformed. If the "preaching*" gets those people to think about something other than themselves for maybe like five minutes, I'm all for it.
*YMMV w/r/t that word. I didn't find any of it to be preachy.

Wow, what a final! Loved the post shift drinks in the park, so pleased Santos has enough heart to offer Whittaker her spare room, Langdon really made things worse for himself, love Mel even more after she pulled the energy from nowhere to give her sister her regular Friday evening, and I’m thrilled McKay didn’t get arrested.
