Murder, She Wrote: Harbinger of Death   Rewatch
June 13, 2015 7:09 AM - Season 4, Episode 13 - Subscribe

Jessica visits her niece Carrie and husband Leonard Palmer (Dean Jones) for their anniversary celebration, only to find Carrie isn't in town and Leonard is distracted by his hunt for the a possible comet that should return any day now. Leonard is also distracted by his school's courting of defense contracts, which brings us to the body of a government man, found dead in the house of Leonard's boss, Russell Armstrong (Jeffrey Tambor), where the evidence points a bit too convincingly to Leonard as the killer.

Despite the presence of George Bluth and Caroline Ingalls and Jim Douglas (sans Herbie), this one wasn't nearly as much fun as some of the others this season. I'm not sure if it's the pacing or just me caring very little about defense contracts in general, or maybe it just wasn't as colorful. The murder victim kind of seemed like someone everyone was better off without.

I liked Dean Jones in this but the casting seemed odd. They make a big deal about Carrie and Leonard being a young couple but Leonard was in his late 50s and very nearly twice Carrie's age.
