Well, the AV Club recap and the Hollywood Reporter interview linked within it gives some explanation for the disclaimer and for the oddness of these first two episodes.

This one felt very...writerly? The princess' speech to Bill, the ending shot of Virginia looking at her newborn and Bill looking at their book, were pretty heavy-handed. Wasn't expecting Danny Boy though. Fingers crossed for next week.
