*Phryne is afraid of spiders.
*Hugh returns from his fishing trip at last, and has been promoted to Senior Constable at Jack's insistence.

Ok, the bit with Phryne trapping the spider with her 'internal device' was kinda funny - but given that during the scene they were all supposed to believe it was the uber-deadly spider whose fangs were strong enough to bite through fingernails, it was pretty ridiculous for Hugh to be picking it up with just a thin piece of paper and the diaphragm protecting him from a quick painful death.

Except that it's Australia. Crazy spiders are a fact of life there, so I can totally buy Hugh being nonchalant about the whole thing.

One of the things I loved about the books was her nonchalant approach to sex, so seeing the "internal device" was a particularly amusing treat. Also I've seen more gif sets of that paparazzo shot on tumblr than I like to think about.
