As Adam goes through a growth spurt and a voice change, this season starts to turn the spotlight on Barry and Erica.

Older looking, and older sounding Adam has taken some getting used to, that's for sure.
I don't mind the focus on Barry and Erica, but I was worried that he would come of looking like an idiot and she'd have to sing a song every episode.
I do think we need more Pops and Murray.
The last show with the dog was a good start with the latter.
Love this show, no matter what.

Wendi McLendon-Covey has been killing it this season (even among an incredibly talented cast). For example the way she responds "That's classified" when the gym teacher says that Adam had been pretending to be a secret agent to get out of swimming.

This season has been really strong this year.

This show has really grown on me since the first season, which took quite a while to find its footing. Making Erica a more prominent character has been critical, I think, in balancing out the stories and as a better foil for Barry than Adam. Troy Gentile, who plays Barry, is seriously funny and I expect to see him in sitcoms for a long time to come. I hated Wendi McLendon-Covey on that horrible CBS sitcom with David Spade and Patrick Warburton a couple of years ago, but she's great as Bev. Sometimes they take Bev a little too far for my taste, but I like that she drops the F-bomb in almost every episode.

There was a moment in the D&D episode that was perfect. Adam was trying to teach the jocks how to play and Barry shows up with an in depth character sheet casually mentioning that Adam never asked him to play and implying that he was hurt Adam didn't.
