FINALE! The winner is crowned.

I confess that I only watched to see which two got into the finale and then fast-forwarded to see who won. I wasn't surprised at the outcome.

I think this show has run out of steam. Everything in this cycle seemed so contrived, and only contestants who have a 'journey' will progress.

Those presentations they had to give made me cringe. Did you notice how they cut to a shot of Mame's mother when Mame was saying that she'd been deprived of love and care growing up? Niiiice.

I think that the guy who was Nyle's interpreter did a great job - he has a very expressive voice and I think was able to put across Nyle's personality very well.

Also, what was Tyra wearing? Giant granny underpants under chiffon pants? Awful.

I wasn't surprised by the final two (after all of Lacey's talk about how it was going to be her and Nyle, I felt pretty confident that meant it was going to be Nyle and Mamé). That said, I was honestly surprised they went with Nyle over Mamé. Pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless. I think Mamé will get work regardless, and it's good exposure for Nyle.

It sounded like the interpreter was choked up during Nyle's presentation- wish they had cut to him. i loved every glimpse we got of him signing Tyra's insanity.

I wasn't surprised at all by the outcome either- no way Tyra would deprive herself of the opportunity to feel proud of crowning a deaf winner.

I felt terrible for Mikey's mother. It must have been hard to come out, be with all these other mothers who had more advantages in life, and see your son be disappointed.

Yeah, me too. I actually was kind of surprised that they picked Nyle over Mikey. I mean, I'm thrilled, and I think he is a way better and more versatile model, but Tyra has always seemed to have such a thing for Mikey, and I feel like she's often rated him more highly than he actually deserved.

Although I was really happy for Nyle, I did actually feel bad for Mikey and his mom. Mikey was surprisingly gracious about getting eliminated.

Also, I'm not at all surprised they picked Mame over Lacey. Still, I actually thought Lacey's Zappos pictures were way better than Mame's, and on the whole, I think she did have stronger pictures throughout this competition. I do think Mame has much better long term, high fashion potential in the modeling industry, but I just think Lacey's Zappos pictures were way better than Mame's, and since that was one of the main deciding factors for deciding on the final two, I would have picked Lacey over Mame. I imagine Lacey will be much more successful in transitioning to acting just like several other previous ANTM contestants.

I'm not even going to get into those presentations which were so stupid. I never thought I would miss the days of Tyra's crazy, over the top challenges. Power point presentations? A trip to Las Vegas that only lasted for like one episode? They would have been better off just staying in LA.

I feel like this show has always had the potential to be way better than it was, and maybe if they could find a way to do a re-booted version that doesn't have Tyra in it, they could actually make it into something that isn't a parody of itself. Still, I am going to kind of miss this show, even though I've always had such a love/hate (emphasis on the hate) relationship with it.

This is essentially what Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model and Australia's Next Top Model are. I enjoy them both, you can find them online via not quite legal means if you're so inclined. The challenges are mostly sane (a lot of them are repeats of stuff they've done on ANTM though), there is very little drama, and they treat the girls/women like people they are training to do an actual job. Which says a lot, given that they allow girls as young as 16 on the Australian version. Almost all of the contestants are light years beyond the American contestants in terms of maturity and kindness. I love the over the top ridiculousness that is Tyra Banks and ANTM but it's nice to see the shows that are actually taking it seriously as well and they really are like watching an almost entirely different concept.

Mikey is now selling his Tocks shirts on Etsy. 12 sales already! I'm impressed.

I can only imagine that Tyra has expanded her empire of questionable product lines to "designer kettlebells," because otherwise, what the hell is GripBell?

Re: The GripBell website - That is a horrible picture of Mamé. She looks like she's been drugged.

Also that is the exact opposite of what I would have thought Stefano's legs looked like, which is definitely not a bad thing.
