I can totally understand Peter's error over the "omelette". Walter isn't exactly fastidious about food in the lab. In fact whenever Walter says he has two thoughts, the second one is ALWAYS about his digestive tract in some way.

What surprised me was the fatal shots at the creature came from Walter, not Olivia.

I don't think I would consider anything sitting out in that lab as fair game to put in my mouth.

I'm thinking this animal, or the other version, is the cause of other dimension Charlie's spiders-in-the-veins problem.

"Hey, we're looking for Big Bird." "Don't be ridiculous. Perhaps a pterodactyl."

I don't know why, but I had a harder time than usual with the "science" of this episode. Maybe because they don't normally try to base in on any kind of reality? I know enough about physiology and anatomy to have been mentally yelling THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS at the screen.

I'm actually weeks ahead and really enjoying Fringe. Thanks for putting these up on FanFare!

Yeah, guys. I managed to binge watch and I'm now in S3. So sorry I've been quiet but um yeah. I'd forgotten how much stuff happens end of S1 through S2, though.

That omelette was on a plate. And I bet they cut the scene where Peter found a menu lying around the lab with Omelette d'Oreille listed as a starter, just to put me on the back foot on this particular point.

I think once we get past some of the wonkier stand alone episodes, there's going to be a lot more serious stuff to discuss. Plus I never in my days expected to form a crush on senior Leonard Nimoy. I'm ahead as well and was super excited at the first appearance/manifestation of the elusive William Bell. His voice, OMG.

Everything about Bell is resonance. His voice, his name, the bell in his office, the affect of his actions, even the passing between universes. It might be shifty science but it's great writing.

And just think-- right now, in the alternate universe, an alternate Charlie is being infected by a very similar chimera, starting a sequence of events that eventually leads to his happy marriage.

"Is this another parasite episode?"

A couple of nods towards Alien(s) too I thought: are monsters real? Chest bursting. Impregnated man.
