Top Chef: Magic Hour
March 14, 2016 6:27 PM - Season 13, Episode 14 - Subscribe

Three chefs become four chefs as the winner of Last Chance Kitchen returns. Then they become two chefs, as two are eliminated before next week's finale.

From the Bravo website description:
"The three remaining chefs head to the finals in Las Vegas and are joined by the reigning champion of Last Chance Kitchen who returns to the competition to battle it out in a high stakes challenge of cards and cuisine. While the winner of the first challenge gets whisked to the finale, the other three move on to cook for the Master of Illusion, Sin City's headliner David Copperfield. The chefs must pull a winning dish out of their hats in order to secure the last spot in the finale."

(Since it had been 4 days since the episode aired without a post, I figured I would give it a shot!)

Thank you for posting! Kept meaning to get around to it, but... I suppose I was just too distraught at the result.

JEREMY YES?

MARJORIE NO?

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

"So, what are you going to use your time machine for? Kill Hitler? Stop the Kennedy assassination?"

"No... I'm going to convince Kwame Onwuachi not to use those stupid frozen waffles in his fast casual dining concept, so Jeremy will be sent home instead."

Of course I'm happy for Amar, who is talented and likable and had damn well better win.

I dunno. I want Amar to win compared to Jeremy, but honestly when he was initially eliminated I thought it was for the best. He seemed like he had lost all interest in the competition.

Maybe I'm just being grumpy. I feel like of the final 6, literally the last 2 I wanted to see in the finale are the ones who made it.

I usually read the Fanfare post on Friday morning, then watch the episode sometime that weekend. When I noticed there was no post on Friday, my partner said, "I bet Marjorie went home and everyone rage quit the show." After watching the episode, I thought, "yep! That's it."

Yeah, I wish Marjorie had been in the finale. It sucks that the "magic" challenge was so totally not what she does.

I don't really hate Jeremy, I'm just bored with Brofessor's schtick, and I can't think of anything he's made that really made me think "oh I really want to eat that!"

Marjorie and Isaac, on the other hand, seem like great people and I would seek out their restaurants if I'm ever in their towns.

My hopes, because I'm a bitter cynic, is that Amar will win so that Jeremy can explain to his daughter what coming in as "first loser" is.

All that aside, I find more joy in Amar than I do in Jeremy. Freaking frozen waffles.

I have a feeling that Kwame might not have made it to the final anyway - frozen waffles or no, I felt like he was on a bit of a downhill path as it was. If it hadn't been the waffles, I suspect something else would've done him in.

I too was bummed that Marjorie didn't make the final. She feels like one of the most well rounded contestants ever. Not only is she a great chef, but she bakes and can do great desserts! Plus, I just liked her attitude generally. It was kind of depressing to see my least favorite two of the final four go through to the final.

Jeremy, Mr. Surfshop/roofgarden/gastropub can't actually win starting a restaurant can he? Someone tell me there's not a chance in hell, pleeeease?
