BrainDead: Goring Oxes: How You Can Survive the War on Government Through Five Easy
June 28, 2016 2:05 PM - Season 1, Episode 3 - Subscribe

Agent Onofrio's investigation of a deadly incident on live TV causes Laurel, Gustav and Rochelle to delve deeper into the bug mystery. Luke tries to hide his affair with Scarlett.

I've been enjoying the absurdity of this show so far. Its beginning so far is off kilter enough to be entertaining, even if the alien bugs seem inconsistent or at least incoherent in their goals. The political satire is definitely good, but I don't know if it's as good as Veep. The cast is definitely very enjoyable though.

The recaps done by Jonathan Coulton are easily one of my favorite things.

I really don't like this show EXCEPT for the musical recaps. I keep trying to make myself like it just for those alone.

I agree, jenfullmoon. The whole thing seems a little flat. The satire doesn't really have any bite. Even Tony Shalhoub isn't enough to save this one for me.

What it boils down to is:
(a) People fighting about politics but not in any particularly interesting manner
(b) OMG THE SEXUAL TENSION BETWEEN LAUREL AND THAT HOT REPUBLICAN
(c) Gross bug crap and lobotomized humans and exploding heads and brains.

I just started watching. Can I PLEASE cut Luke's hair? It's driving me nuts. Like if the bugs cut his hair? I'm good.

So, the consensus is that the Kings got really, really high after like season five of The Good Wife, right?

I guess I am in the minority in finding this perfectly fine on its own summer-season merits. Being able to watch it commercial-free on Prime doesn't hurt, I will admit.

Gustav's business card is the best thing ever.
