The siblings plan the funeral, but Charley and Nova disagree about how best to honor their father; and Ralph Angel and Aunt Violet are at odds over whether it's ok for his young son to attend the funeral service.

*Nova's editor tries to get her to write a gossip piece about Davis' rape accusation.
*Charley finds letters from Ernest Newell at her father's house, and while there gets approached by a Samuel Landry who offers to buy the property. She meets the (unexpectedly young & handsome) Newell to try to learn more about Ernest's debts and Landry.
*Davis learns of Ernest's death and shows up to try to win Charley and Micah back.
*Ralph Angel tries to get Blue's mother to take care of him during the funeral, but her boss demands she finish her shift, and she shows up during the ceremony instead.
*Ernest has a Masonic funeral service.

I wonder how long it took to film the funeral scene - it looked like they were at magic hour for at least part of it, but how on earth to you film a scene with that many people and multiple angles outside at magic hour? I guess you save all the close-ups for last when the tent will hide the sky, but it was still pretty awesome.

My husband and I watched the first two episodes last night. I was a little confused - kind of like when meeting a big family of inlaws for the first time. But it drew me in and by the end of the second episode I was in tears.
