Manhattan: Tangier   First Watch
November 19, 2016 11:42 PM - Season 1, Episode 11 - Subscribe

Developments overseas drive security concerns on The Hill. Charlie wins a poker hand and loses his cool. Security takes a hard look at Frank Winter. Abby and Helen are in different subterfuges. And Akley goes to Washington.

"Magpie," the American spy inside the German atomic-bomb project, has been discovered. The Nazis have separated his tongue from his body, shutting down any news on the Third Reich's bomb-building efforts. This prompts a severe response at Los Alamos, but is not the only door being opened or closed this week.

The rivalry that exists between the two design groups in “Manhattan” was never a reality at Los Alamos during the war. “The idea was to have various group leaders usually describe what the group was working on and what their main problems were,” says Diven. “Very frequently it would turn out that somebody who had not associated with them at all would come up with an idea of something that would actually be important.”
