I'm not sure how I feel about the end reveal that the Kinoshimobe wasn't really dead after all.
I saw that as kind of a sop to Monroe's "free-range kind of self-defense" concerns; without it you're left with the rather sour feeling that Nick pretty much straight-up murdered the Kinoshimobe. (And, presumably, also the Jubukko tree which needs the Kinoshimobe to feed it.)
There was a pleasing man-in-a-rubber-suit cheapness to the effects this week. I liked Rosalee's eyes-and-teeth grimoire, too.
there's nothing particularly interesting about watching him Skype with someone about the symbols
"I vould like to practice my English."

Me and my wife were torn between making Groot and Ent jokes throughout this episode but I always like seeing the gang work a case. Not much for Adalind or Eve in this episode other than that uncomfortable gaffe by Monroe.
I like that the Groot/Ent is still alive, likely awaiting the next violator of the forest

I'm still weirded out that going all "normal monster of the week" is how this show is going out after all this time.
Though while I appreciate Monroe's points, I dunno how you logic with the hungry tree monster.

As the 5th-to-the-last episode of the series, a bit too much filler for my taste, especially Renard's scenes. It didn't matter so much that he was disjointed from the rest of the characters when Meissner's ghost was still around to bridge the gap, but there's nothing particularly interesting about watching him Skype with someone about the symbols when they're not saying anything we don't already know.
Wesen-Groot and the cannibal tree were good & creepy, though I'm not sure how I feel about the end reveal that the Kinoshimobe wasn't really dead after all.
