Etiquette for taking over a First Watch for a series?

I recently started watching Band of Brothers and I'd love to discuss it with people here. A few First Watch threads are already on here (from 2014) but only for the first 2 episodes. The user who created them seems to have been inactive since 2015. What's the etiquette for taking it over/can I start making new posts?
Oh, I dunno about reposting for the first couple of episodes though - that might warrant flagging down a mod or making a Meta to hash out rules for. But I'd definitely feel comfortable making threads for subsequent episodes. (Sorry, should've thought that through a minute longer before posting.)

Ditto this problem for "Breaking Bad"--last First Watch post was about Season One, in 2014.

As long as enough time has passed, and you don't double up episodes that were already done, you should be golden.

I don't think it would be rude unless a poster or group had been faithfully posting for awhile and just happened to be a little late with one - then maybe ask. But otherwise? Eh. We're informal here.)
When we were hashing all this out I think the idea of specific users "owning" a show was shot down pretty quickly. So, yeah, if someone (or a couple of people, as it shakes out) is taking the time and effort to regularly post that's different, but a few years*? Go for it!
*Id sayeven a few episodes.

I'd definitely say use the existing posts for the early episodes then just post new ones for subsequent eps without a second thought, especially after such a dearth.

You can always link to the old threads in the new threads.

I agree with the no one user "owns" a show; I've been in a bunch of threads where several users all chip in and post.
One counterexample I've noticed is Last Man on Earth where jenfullmoon started doing recaps because they were more entertaining/less annoying than the actual show. Checking, though, even there other users also chip in.
Yeah, if it s moribund Fanfare, by all means, have at it! I'd recommend posting a Fanfare Talk thread to let people know that its coming back and can Add the show (for My Fanfare) if they haven't already.
One counter-counter example is Colony where the original (major) poster wouldn't have Netflix access until the following year and most people where fine with it.

Yeah, sorry I've dropped out of that. I haven't been doing much writing since Trump came into power and I'm way behind on Last Man to boot because I'm not watching too much TV in a timely manner either. Everyone else, go right ahead.
