My Brother, My Brother And Me: MBMBaM 355: The Playbloom

This episode is all about the stuff that gets folks' noodle going. It's one of our most thematically consistent episodes yet, which is a shame. A quarter of it was spent talking about a movie that came out in 2015. Cool! Suggested talking points: KNKOs, Five Very Large Posters of Orlando Bloom, Year Ball, Milk Tricks, Infinite Banana, Food Recs, Stuck to the Chair
Looks like Jokes decided to stop by for a visit!
I really like listening to MBMBAM, and really anything McElroy related, but I've recently felt that the sheer levels of work and family commitment that they (in particular Griffin and Travis right now) are engaged in, have meant that MBMBAM has been kept on a slow simmer in recent months. They've been nice to listen to and interesting and amusing, but there's not been much making an idiot of myself laughing in public. The brothers seem to have been aware of that, doing a bunch of goofs on that point. However, this episode was very much firing on all cylinders, from my perspective. I really enjoyed the 50 Shades stuff, and was impressed by the callbacks they managed to work into the episode so that it felt cohesive but not repetitive.
I do wonder whether Griffin might have to cut back on some stuff quite soon. It's pretty clear than he's taken on a massive amount, and, while he's doing an excellent job of keeping the balls in the air, I don't think anyone sane would begrudge him a bit less work time. Also, from the broad hints that have been dropped on Sawbones, it seems like Justin and Sydnee are planning another child, so it's not like the family workload is likely to decrease soon.
Anyway, just thinking out loud. I have a huge affection for the McElroys, who seem like nice people trying hard to make good products. Long may they continue making stuff as good as this!

Car Boys had its finale over the weekend, so that's one less Griffin project....

Very often, after having listened to an episode, I'll read through the description and not remember what most of the things were about. It's not the sign of a bad episode, just how many weird tangents the McElroy bros. will take.
