Rayna decides between Luke and Deacon. Scarlett, Gunnar and Avery go on a road trip. Juliette auditions for a Patsy Cline biopic and learns some surprising news. Layla fails to deal with Will's revelation. Maddie's relationship with Teddy improves.

Did they change the show runner again? Lots of big and little things felt just off. The 3 friends' slapstick road trip was just tone deaf to the normal balance of humor and gravitas of the show. The 2 live shows pretty much sucked, and where by the 2 least interesting performers in the first place. Rayna's hair is the wrong color. And the background music of the scenes and transitions was schmaltzy and generic.
It's always been a hot soapy mess, but this just felt like a different, inferior brand of soapy mess.

I like Deacon a whole lot, but I completely understand why she chose Luke. And honestly, I know that Luke isn't super popular, but I still really like him, and I thought he handled the news of Deacon's proposal/her choice with grace.

Also Juliette's news was so completely predictable to the point where I thought they had revealed it already.

I still think there's something dark about Luke that we just haven't learned about yet.
