Rude, Orphan Black. Quite rude.

They play with fire; they're fearless; we get hurt; they get hurt; this is one of my favorite stories.

Mrs. S!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a bad feeling S wasn't going to get out of this one alive. At least she took out that pompous prick Ferdinand before she went. S went out with a truly righteous kill.

Poor, poor, Gracie. I don't think I've ever seen such a completely formed victim written into a show. Your heart really does break for her. At least mine does.

In my dreams, I so want big, pregnant Helena to go full-on berserker on that room of Neos, leaving the coup-De-grace for Gracie's killer. And, once she's done, go into labor.

So long, Mrs. S, you were the baddest badass in the Orphan Black universe.

In lighter news, during last night's Twitter Q&A that the cast has been doing this season Jordan Gavaris said that he wants Felix to be on Doctor Who. Somebody needs to make that happen as it is equal parts totally wrong and totally right.

Haha Felix basically already is the best companion ever, time for him to move up to the big leagues!

So, now that the show is solidly in "killing-off characters" mode, would it be proper (spoiler-wise) for us to opine as to who we think will (or will not) survive to the end?
posted by Thorzdad at 11:38 AM on July 30, 2017

Not Mrs. S! But it is the end of the show so some people are going to have to die.

Sarah was really getting to me that she couldn't let Felix just have his day. She should have trusted S but she didn't, and now that's the last chance she had.

So if it's going public and Cosima plans to go around inoculating clones, does that mean the next two episodes are going to be full of new clones??? *crosses fingers*

Mrs. S's "a gun under every pillow" strategy finally came in handy.

I know it's not been so long in show-time, but it feels like Helena has been pregnant for literally years.

What the hell is Tatiana Maslany going to do next? I'd love for The Expanse to grab her up and keep her in Toronto, but seriously ANYTHING she does is going to feel like a step down. This show has an ensemble cast, but most of the ensemble is one actor.

I think anything after this will feel like a vacation for her. To be able to settle into a single character for the run of a show would probably seem like a luxury.

I feel the same way. It's been at least two seasons, hasn't it? (however you count a "season" these days) I've kind of been bummed that she's been more-or-less sidelined for so long.

Since she has a "telepathic" connection with the clones, I wonder if Kira will have an even stronger connection with Helena's bebbies?

Too late, Maslany recently moved to Los Angeles. She mentioned driving a U-Haul from Toronto to LA on Jimmy Kimmel's show much to Kimmel's amazement.

I wonder if they'd have the guts to kill Sarah? Also, which one of them do you think will have the honor of killing that horrible dirty cop, whatshername?

Oh, Art has to kill her. Nobody threatens his daughter and lives.

And Helena gets to kill Cody, of course.

I keep hoping for Kira's psychic abilities to become useful at some point. Maybe she could go all Scanners to end the show.

Then Helena will be all, "You can do this? Why do you not do this all along?" And Kira would be all, "No one ever asked me to. You guys never tell me anything!"

I suspect Helena would be too thrilled at the prospect of her own brain-exploding magic babies to say much of anything.

Yeah. If the show ends and nothing comes of Kira's abilities, I'm going to be really miffed.

It is a sad commentary, though, on what passes for contemporary entertainment today, that our discussion on how a series will end its run involves a bodycount.

I don't think Helena's going to make it (but her babies will). Her journal pretty clearly signaled that to me.

Cosima's horded cures, and her conversation with Scott about them, made it sound like there are a lot more clones than we've seen. I'm expecting some sort of Buffy potential Slayer situation in the final episode.

Yeah. S's death is tragic but she went out at the level she was working at all along. She knew the stakes, and she knew what she was doing when she went to the house. It wasn't a surprise to see her die, except for plot-armor reasons.

Gracie was never operating at that level. I can't even see that there was any particular reason for the Neos to kill her. She's not a threat except maybe via Mark, but this hardly helps that situation. She's just stumbling her way through a shitty hand.

I just a couple days ago saw a headline about Orphan Black episode 8, and that was the first I was aware it was even BACK! I'm an idiot.

Obviously I've binged thru at this point. S went out just the way she should ("Quite enough lip out of you"--and she shot him in the throat just as she said she would) but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mrs S!! What a gut punch and what a tragedy for Felix, Sarah, and oh, Kira...!!

Random thoughts--is Charlotte being treated? Or are they still waiting to see if things work out for Cosima? Also on that note I don't like that everyone is talking about how good Cos looks, but she still has that cough. Also don't like how we left on such a super-high note with Cosima and Delphine. Makes me nervous.

How did they cast a kid for Charlotte who basically doesn't age over four seasons? Or do I just not remember what she looked like when we first saw her?

Kind of sad that Susan never got to know that Rachel did the ethical thing, in the end. Kinda sad, or as sad as you can really be about any of Those People.

I was struck that Felix thanked his "galaxy of women" for their "nurture." The entire show has been about not restricting women to "nurturing" roles--quite the opposite, in fact. Yet obviously they do nurture each other, and Felix is talking about family--and about the word in the "nature vs nurture" sense.

That word choice in light of the next scene, in which Mrs S is killed--S who is the MOST badass nurturer in the history of TV--is very interesting writing.

Loved Felix's paintings, esp the one of Alison. Really like "his" style so kudos to the production person responsible for those.

I wonder how and when the frozen embryos buried in the garden will come into play.

I imagine everyone worried that Felix was going to be shuffled to the side and shafted is delighted to have been so, so wrong. He and Siobhan both really got to shine about as beautifully as I could have hoped.
