For the First Time, Again (Take Them to the Stars #3)

The conclusion of the Take Them to the Stars trilogy lands with something of a thud, trading the centuries-long frame of the series and the decades-long span of the previous books for a too-tight focus on a single character telling us more about her plan than showing it.

"As a whole, Take Them to the Stars was a potent idea that deserved a less rushed treatment." -- nerds of a feather, flock together

I've been a big fan of Neuvel, but both of his trilogies so far have suffered from the same problem:
Book One: Amazing high concept, characters I care about
Book Two: Let's see how that concept would really play out and widen the universe a bit
Book Three: Unsatisfying conclusion that doesn't really tackle the concept, starring people who aren't the characters I cared about in the beginning
