Really strong start. Feels fresh while building on decades of continuity. Gorgeous penciling/colors/lettering. Great graphics. A secret alphabet. Mysteries. Hickman A.F. So far, I'm 100% in.

Also, Wolverine playing with the young'uns on Krakoa is something I did not know I needed as much as I actually do.

Between Wolverine's happy Dad moment and that exchange where Charles reassures Jean that "You're safe here. We all are.", I"m getting a lotus-eater vibe from Krakoa.

Also- does anyone else think it's significant that the speech balloons use upper- and lower-case? That used to be an Ultimate Universe thing, but 1610 is gone last I checked.

There are some really subtle things happening in the art, like the Cerebro helmet at the start of the book is a slightly different design than the helmet Charles is wearing in the grove next to Wolverine. Is this indicating different time periods, and if so, what's the chronological order?

Powers of X #1 just came out today and it takes the story to some really interesting places. Definitely enjoying these books.

It is quite interesting how HoX and PoX are tying into eachother. I wonder how they will read as individual series once their runs are done. The deal with Sinister in PoX #4 becoming immediately relevant in HoX #5, same with the bit of backstory between Apocalypse and Krakoa. How spoilery can we get in here? Because I would really like to discuss HoX #5 with someone.

Spoilers are ok, fanfare is for commenting on things you've read/watched.

Right so the ability of the mutants on Krakoa to resurrect dead mutants, how long is this going to be something they can do? I can't see it being something that sticks long term because even though all the X-Men have died and come back to life at some point, doing so on a bi-weekly basis is a bit much. The easy way to end it would be for one of "the Five" to themselves be killed, incapacitated, or estranged from the rest. And Proteus, how is he even still alive? He's too powerful. Maybe if he's not going to be killed off soon he can hang out with Franklin Richards and Molecule Man in whatever pocket dimension they put characters who are too powerful to spend much time in the Marvel Universe proper.

Just as long as no one touches my boy Goldballs…

He can go back to hanging out with Miles and Ganke.

There's still one more issue to go (and a red one at that) but both HoX and PoX have been really strong titles and hopefully this will carry over into the ongoing series. It isn't like Marvel hasn't had talented creators working on the X-books but for whatever reason they've been more miss than hit for a very long time.

HOX6 is amazing. The mutant rave is my new everything, Ali + Terri, Logan + Scott + Jean, Jean + Emma. I ship them all.

Hmm... maybe making more mutants is their only hope.
