Special Event: 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs π - Third Round
The second round of the playoffs is over and we're into the conference finals; the Western conference will be a high-stakes π₯© battle of elite scoring talent, as Connor McDavid π₯ turned from the best player in the world into one of the best players of all time with his Edmonton Oilers kicking out π¦΅βΈ the Calgary Flames. They face a stacked and favoured Colorado Avalanche, where Nathan McKinnon π and Cale π₯¬Makar scored some beautiful goals in a sometimes ugly (by which I mean racist) series against the St Louis Blues.
In the East, it could be the matchup of the best two goaltenders π₯
in the world. Tampa Bay's Andrei Vasilevskiy π¦ led his team into a dominant four game π§Ήof the Florida Panthers, the regular season winners. Meanwhile NY Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin π€΄ slammed the πͺ on the Carolina Hurricanes to turn the tables in game 7 after the home teams won the first 6 games. [more inside]

Special Event: Blaseball Season 13
Blaseball is quite recently back! As we head into what is obviously an extremely lucky and not incredibly dangerously cursed at all Season 13, the two biggest pieces of news of the Internet Blaseball League are (1) teams will now be getting their own official in-game blallparks with who knows WHAT implications, and (2) there are new expansion teams in the league: the Ohio Worms, the Core Mechanics, and the Atlantis Georgians. Also the squid ate? the Peanut, and then The Boss, who presents as an ancient Roman coin bearing a sigil of justice, ushered in the age of Peace & Prosperity. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Coronavirus: Sports Season 7, Ep 12
This week: Another episde from the Void. Rick Bright became a whistleblower into Trump's Coronavirus response, while Trump dissipated his energies unveiling the "Space Force" flag. There is a scandal around North Carolina Senator Richard Burr for profiting off of non-public Coronavirus briefings back in February. And Now: Rachael Ray Is Doing Her Best With Her New, One-Man Production Crew. Main story: Sports, why shutting them down for a while was the right thing to do, and what they've been doing in the meantime, some of which is actually fairly positive! Although some are fairly sucky, with the drive to earn profits overruling some team owners and even schools' desire to keep their players healthy. Mystery Science Theater 3000: THE SIDEHACKERS Rewatch Season 2, Ep 2
Rewatch! On Thursday: Rommel is a mechanic who participates in weird motorcycle races in his off time. He introduces the unstable J.C. and his gang to his sport, but events take a violent turn. A grimy and depressing take of shattered love and revenge. How did this episode become one of Mystery Science Theater 3000's earliest beloved classics? A lot of it has to do with the sport of sidehacking depicted in the movie, which is two-person motorcycling on a dirt track, with a driver and a rider who leans their butt way out on a sidehack to balance the bike out on sharp turns. An obviously extremely dangerous sport that's the subject of some hilarious extended riff runs. Previously.
