In an effort to perk up Dean's love life and to move out of their house, Stewart and Debbie set Dean up with Gail Budnick (Christina Applegate), his high school prom date. Stewart and Debbie then become worried that Dean is jumping into his relationship with Gail too fast, with him already being the surrogate father of Gail's son. Lizzie is upset when Stewart and Debbie allow Ethan to bring his girlfriend home, feeling that it is double standard knowing that they do not allow her to date.

Stewart thinks that his snooty neighbors, the Gerharts, Lyle (Nat Faxon) and Vanessa (Alexie Gilmore), are only being friendly with him and Debbie because they are related to Dean, who continues to make romantic advances (that are rebuffed by) Claire.

Back in the office, Dean believes that Claire is a mole for Sanderson & Yao, when confidential information on their cases continue to leak.
