Jessica Fletcher is visiting Fifty-Mile, Wyoming, for the funeral of a long-time friend, Jack Carver. Carl Mestin and his wife, Sally, roll up in their RV and rustle a lot of feathers, especially when Carl pulls out a copy of the will that no one else has seen. With that will, Carl claiming rights to Jack's ranch, pushing out Jack's daughter, Mary, and crushes Tim Carver's dream of reuniting the old Carver Ranch. There's a secret lurking, and it might be reason enough for murder.
