Augh, travelling with Lucien is so anxiety-making! Caleb trying to read the book is going to end horribly, so here's hoping it doesn't happen.

That card reading was amazing, as was Caleb and Veth's conversation. Typically you antagonize the cult leader in order to shake their authority and peel off some of their group, but I don't know how that works with the Tomb Takers, considering he can be any of them at any time.

I love the push-pull of the current situation; it's creating a lot of fun and tense moments. The die rolls for the card reading were amazing; it's neat when things like that happen.

I could be wrong, but it feels like we've had moments like the Caleb-Veth conversation before as well? Whatever happens, it feels like the M9 is drawing towards some kind of different state of being after this.

Veth definitely had a few conversations about feeling guilty about not being with her family while on Rumblecusp that sounded a lot like this. She was definitely trying to be a part-time adventurer before this, but Eiselcross didn't really allow for that setup. I thought that they might be heading for a timeskip after Rumblecusp, but maybe after this arc ends (depending on how it ends), maybe there will be some time for Veth to be with her family? She doesn't want to give up adventuring all together, and I'd really hate to lose her as a character.
