I expected this to be mediocre, cheesy but fun at best, some light Halloween fare. Which the first half delivered on a little ploddingly. But I was not prepared for "actually this is a movie about being shunned for your 'weird' interests" and how well the main actor sold what that feels like. Really enjoyed the movie, for some definition of "enjoyed." I know we have plenty of movies about being the weird kid, but this one felt truer than most, to me.

Also, Krysten Ritter's outfits were killer and the fact that they changed every single scene for literally no reason sent me.
