The series focused on the first generation to grow up during the zombie apocalypse.
The second spin-off was conceived as a two-season limited series. Four teens from Campus Colony (Hope, Iris, Silas, and Elton) set out to find the research facility in New York where Iris and Hope’s dad has gone and is possibly being held by the CRM, those people with the three-ring logo and helicopters.
The main crossover with the rest of the Walking Dead universe is Jadis (aka Anne, aka the one who led the garbage-dump community in TWD and turned over Rick to the CRM after he almost blew himself up).
The final post-credits payoff that everyone was waiting for: Rick Grimes returns! No, not really, it’s Noah Emmerich (who you may vaguely remember from season 1 of TWD as the CDC scientist) on video as it is revealed there is a French Variant of the virus that makes fast zombies.
