Bi-weekly Comics Talk

What's come out in the last couple of weeks that you have to share and talk about? What's coming out soon that you really can't wait for? If it's got words and pictures and is reasonably current then let's talk about it here!
I think that bi-weekly is a decent period but if none of us pick stuff up that regularly then we can stretch it to monthly later on.
Also things like formatting and consistent post titles will likely be a work in progress for a while.

If we're just posting about new releases from the bigger publishers, I don't think I'd be able to contribute much. I'm into indie stuff and often I don't pick up a book until months or years after it's been published. If the scope of these posts was expanded to cover whatever people had just discovered, I think you'd get more contributions.

I don't think this'll be a huge group in any event so the more contributors the better. I'll probably be talking about more recent stuff but I'm not going to say no to someone talking about something that came out a while ago.

I'm just going to gush about A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance because it is a great title. I find Rick Remender's work to be hit or miss but this title has been a hit so far. The pacing of the issues is great, it is decompressed so in a lot of ways not too much happens in a given issue but there's enough there to move the story forward and so far every one has ended with a great cliffhanger. I don't think I've ever been a fan of Andre Lima Araujo's art but it works here (in the same way that I'm not into Nick Dragotta's art but it just worked for me in East of West). Clean, detailed, and expressive. It's a dialogue light series so he has to do the heavy lifting to move the story and he has so far. The whole series is violent and gory of the realistic variety so if that is a deal breaker stay away I understand, like this issue is one big torture and fight scene, but it is great reading even if I was curling my toes when I was looking at some of the panels.
