I would have to agree.
While I have enjoyed a fair bit of the films that people call "elevated horror," there have also been a number of films like this where I am not convinced the filmmakers even wanted to make a horror movie. They just what felt like an exploitable indie niche. This feels like one of those.

I saw this during Salem Horror Fest 2020 (fingers crossed they have a streaming option again in the future), and was similarly let down. It's very moody, but the mood is "kinda bored."
