April 25, 2023 9:15 PM - Season 2, Episode 5 - Subscribe

Convinced they're well on their way to a happy ending, Josh and Melissa both rocket to fame in Schmicago and get embroiled in a deadly plot.

As Jenny and Topher become absorbed in one another, space opens up for a new star at the Kratt Klub and a new visionary to guide the Tribe. While reluctant at first, both Melissa and Josh let the flattery go to their heads and their attention drift away from the goal of a happy ending. Jenny and Topher look up to see their roles stolen and confront their ex-friends, sending them out into the cold. They find shelter at the orphanage and Josh finally spots the orphan to sausage pipeline plan. In a desperate attempt to divert that particular deadly plot, Melissa promises to deliver Kratt to Dooley. The Narrator goes on break, but fortunately, there's a backup trio to cover for him until he's back on the clock. Kratt turns out to be cannier than our protagonists and avoids their trap, instead springing his own. He informs Melissa that she has only one choice - be a bigamist or a widow.

In a surprise twist, we get a hint of Little Shop of Horrors with the stand-in Narrators. Also, wow that junkyard has some amazing hair-growing powers. First Josh unbalded and now Jenny's bob has exploded in length.

I was feeling Melissa's stage show, as a stage loser. Such a well written episode putting everything together! Melissa on stage, Josh as a weird religious guru!

Maybe he's just weighing the orphans...for Christmas presents?!
"I'm on break, man!"
I love this orphans-for-Kratt exchange idea.

Yes, also noticed the Little Shop girls. Bad Narrator! Bad!

I think I need to seek out more of Tituss Burgess' work, because he is both tremendously talented and very obviously having an absolute blast as the narrator.

"THAT WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION!"

His character in Kimmy Schmidt was one of the best parts of the show.

My favorite part of this episode was Melissa’s turn as Louise from G*psy - Oh no, a star spot to fill! Wait, turn out I LOVE it?

Alan Cumming looked like he burst into laughter every time they yelled "cut", or at least looked like he was having some trouble keeping in dour grumpy character.

"God made them meat. I'm just making them into sausage."
