The Walking Dead: Dead City: Old Acquaintances

Maggie and Negan travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland; the crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror.

Eli Jorné, who wrote fot TWD toward the end and for the American version of Wilfred, spins off Maggie and Negan into a zombie version of Escape from New York.

Pilot had good production value and paring down the characters and dropping them in a new setting was mildy interesting. Željko Ivanek's villain doesn't seem that fresh so far.

I'm maybe not the best judge of this since, like Darcy the Mail Girl on JBB, I noped out after Negan killed Glenn. I do like Lauren Cohan a lot though.

It's wild how much they try to position The Croat's very Croatian-ness as creepy.

Croatians are some of the nicest people in Eastern Europe.

I mean... it's a country that's like half seaside known for hospitality. Might as well try and scare people with The Tahitian.

I agree with this pretty much wholeheartedly: ‘Dead City’ Was Good, Maybe ‘The Walking Dead’ Needed To Die For Its World To Thrive

Also, upon reflection about the likelihood that the EP, Eli Jorne may be Croatian, I will let that other silliness slide.
