Encounter Party: The Undercover Acolytes
July 10, 2024 12:03 PM - Season 1, Episode 16 - Subscribe
The party is on-boarded into The Future and gains a better understanding of the master plan; teamwork becomes a challenge as each player is assigned a different job; Vinh discovers his uncle is training a militant wing of The Future.
Ned 2 made me chuckle, despite it driving me insane on set :P
Vinh fashioned himself a mask before heading to combat training and used that to disguise himself from Thane.
I'm loving following along the adventure with you all!

Ah, got it! Thanks for filling me in. We have now reached the episodes that I'm watching for the first time so it's easier for me to miss things.

I really am loving this show -- the story, the characters, the players, the production, all of it. It's been really neat having your perspective on each episode, so thank you for that! And of course to Saxon Kane for making these posts!

Thanks to you! Apologies that my posting/commenting schedule has been a wee bit erratic, been bouncing between different shows & other activities, so sometimes I have trouble recalling the particulars of a given ep.
The Human Resources department bit was too funny, and Asher's introduction made my jaw drop: "I'm ASHER and I like to cast the spell ALARM..." I had the same reaction as Brian: "What a betrayal of information!!" I wasn't quite sure if that was a Landree Fleming momentary brain fart or just really great role-playing of the socially oblivious Asher; leaning towards the latter.
Was a bit surprised that Thane wasn't like, "Hey, dude, why are you wearing a mask?" but no big deal.
The one kinda "Oops!" moment though was at the end, after Flik ID'd the Sashes of Scrying and everyone agreed they had to be very careful about what they said & did while wearing them... and then they all just went around talking about what they've learned about the Future in a somewhat suspicious manner, sort of negating that whole "let's be careful about what we say" thing, hee hee :)

@Saxon an important thing to track is in character conversation vs. out of character conversation! That whole section at the end is the players game planning, completely out of the fiction. So no concerns about being overheard!

Infiltration isn't going to be an easy job. Having to divulge their actual skills and getting divvied up... But getting walloped at least gets Ned 2 and Tolo over to the infirmary where Vraedin and Nadia are. (Did I miss something about how Vinh isn't recognized by his uncle besides his changing his voice?) Very mysterious, these eye injuries.
Corralai was certainly excited by Flik's expertise, and he didn't even tell her about his lockpicking yet. Although it seems the party needs to accomplish yet another mission first, and under surveillance. (Smart move to ID the headband.) It was nice to hear the players discuss what was happening and their theories.
Tally ho!
